Meet the Crew: Joanne, Jaime, and Christa planting Red Maria potatoes.

There’s so much happening on the farm it’s hard to keep up! The farm crew has been very busy seeding, seeding, planting, and planting.

Noteworthy plantings these past two weeks include 250 asparagus crowns, 60 blueberry bushes, 10,000 onions, 600 lbs of seed potatoes, 2,000 lettuce seedlings, an early round of cucumber and zucchini, and the list goes on! Long rows of carrots, beets, and turnips, and greens, are germinating. Bok choi, tat soi, kohlrabi, kale, and chard are putting on new leaves. Peas are ready for trellising. Garlic is nearly knee-high.

Suddenly, it’s almost June. This week we’re getting ready to transplant our field tomatoes, and gearing up for our Spring Seedling Sale and Open House next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We hope to see you all there!

All of our organic seedlings are grown right here on the farm. At our Seedling Sale, we’ll have 20+ varieties of tomatoes to choose from, as well as eggplant, peppers, cucumbers, squash, broccoli, greens, and herbs. While you’re here stocking up on plants, you can also pick up some seed packets from High Mowing Organic Seeds for your direct seeded crops like arugula, radishes, carrots, and beans. We’ll help you get your vegetable garden off to a great start!
