After plenty of rain and a little sunshine, the early summer leafy crops like lettuce, kale and salad greens are looking great. Potatoes are up and growing, and tomato plants are putting on lots of new dark green growth. Peas are climbing their trellis, and the onion beds look a lot happier now that they’ve been liberated from the weeds (for the time being).
Meanwhile, salad season continues with lots of leafy greens in our CSA shares and at the farmers’ markets this week: butterhead lettuce, beet greens, kale, salad mix, arugula, pea shoots, bok choi, mustard greens, and more!
Wondering what we’ll be harvesting next? We’re starting to see pea pods and lots of flowers on the pea vines, and a few yellow blossoms on our squash and zucchini plants. Coming soon!
